Everest Base Camp Trek Memories

Day 01: Flight to Lukla (2,850m/9,350 ft) 40 minutes, Trek to Phakding

It’s totally fantastic flight to Lukla with Tara airlines. Total duration is 45 minutes but in deep, you may feel as infinite. Because during your all journey , you may seen green forests, small villages and beautiful Himalayan mountains on far distances. After Landing a huge breakfast and continue for Phakding from Lukla between blue roof mountain homes. You may hear NAMASTE from all children , locals and villagers. This sentence really feels you relax, safe and happy. You should not be in rush , just enjoy your each meter slowly , enjoy the view. Enjoy your time inside green, white and blue. At the end of the day, we reach the Phakding guesthouse and have dinner after 4 hours walking. If you are a photography lover as me , it may take long and long time. But just enjoy , do not rush. After dinner the best activity is card games, music, writing and talking with friends. The choice is yours.

Day 02: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

It’s  way from Phakding to Namche. Its approximate 8 hours walking distance with normal speed. Its completely amazing route with lost of Bridges, waterfalls and stone roads between mountain homes, children , praying stones and flags (OM MANI PADME HUM) But the most beautiful time of this route is Hillary Bridge. Is completely amazing, feels superb. If you have some foreigners like yaks during road, you will be feeling good. During road we are discussing Caste system of Nepal with Friends. How many caste there are in Buddhism and Hinduism. Why Nepali people use Inner name. Firstly it’s a little bit hard to understand but after a while , you feel as a different world. The route is so good . But without good companies as walking friend, it may be disaster. So choose the right person. At evening time, we reach the Namche Bazaar. We had only one time lunch break during road.  After Hilary Bridge, it took only 2 hours walking and finally reached the Namche. After Check in the room, we go for dinner and enjoy the evening time of Namche between fogs, Mountains and silence. Just a complete meditation. Today and tomorrow , we will stay at Namche Baazar for Acclimatization and completely happy with this. During night, our choice is singing. Iran, India, Turkey, America and Denmark  and Of course Nepal. 6 country, 6 music and 6 different story. Lets go sleep with good rhytms and feelings.

All day belongs to us so no hurry. After breakfast we start our program and it really amazing. Namche is beautiful village with fantastic view. For every side , you may say waovvv. The weather is not stable. Rain, Fog, Wind and sunny change suddenly. But we have done all our program except of seeing Everest due to weather. After Dinner , we go beds for tomorrow program. Tomorrow way to Tengboche village.

Day 04: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

Early wake up to incredible view. Fresh air ,yellow forest and white mountains. Namaste to everyone. Today route is similar to yesterday, firstly stable route after that going down and finally going up. During your way,  we see the Everest, Lotse and Amadablam mountains. We are lucky because of weather. It is clear and good. 1st half of route is very good, between forests it is an amazing road. But 2nd half , you are going up for a 250 Meter hill. It is too step , so we are going slow because of mountain sickness. But this road is also as previous days. Full of green , full of bridges, full of mountains and full of Joys. At evening time , we reached to Tengboche and before going to our guest house, we go to monastery and talking with monk. We are asking about mountain lifes, he explains everything. He also gives us Masala tea. Its totally amazing time. After monastery , we go for dinner. This time we sit near stove and talks with guides, Sherpas and local villagers. And after that going to sleeps for tomorrow.

Its way to Dingboche. Today we will see Amadablam from very close. My dream mountain Amadablam. The road looks like alice in wonderland. White rabbit is running and you are following. Only sounds , your footprints, birds , waterfalls and yaks bell. We are very lucky for today, because our quest house is just opposite of Mount Amadablam and it will be fantastic to see this mountain during sunrise. During road we are not lucky because of weather , but walking inside fog is another experience and you should definitely try. At the end of day, we reach the Dingboche as feel tired but happy. Today   we will play card and talk about life. There is no internet (İts expensive) , limited electricity (We are totally happy with this) so best thing is playing cards, having conversation and drinking tea. After going to sleeping bags.

Only grey at land and Blue and White at sky. Its totally different and you really feel strange. But all of your environmental is full of Himalaya ranges. Like a dream. Right, Left, Back , Front  no way just mountains and huge mountains. At the end of our road ,  we reach the Everest with clear vision. Yes , feeling fantastic. Big hughes, Laughs . After that we back to guesthouse because for next day in 4am. we start to climb kalapathar for Everest-sunrise. So for today, we are not spending too much time near stove and go bed early. We start walking to Kalapathar viewpoint with head-light. Its really feel strange for seeing white mountains during night. Its cold like 2 degrees. No wind, No sound, Just night and white mountains. But during sunrise, its completely amazing. After sunrise, we go to the Pheriche village. This time we are sad. Because I am so sure, no one wants to go back. But this is life. At evening , everyone celebrates himself for this adventure. Spending time at Periche with songs, games and laughs.
