Annapurna Base Camp Trek:Another Day in Paradise

Back in November 2018, we had a plan for the expedition to the Himalayas. The most popular trekking route in Nepal, Annapurna Base Camp was our destination. We knew the trail was not a cup of tea, but we dare to challenge ourselves. The roller coaster ride was worth it when we experience the breath-taking view of the Mt. Annapurna range. We can view the Annapurna Ranges, comprising of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, and Annapurna IV. Some other views that it offers are Fishtail, Hiunchuli, and Dhaulagiri. Short Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu – Pokhara

Day 02: Pokhara – Matkyu – Jhinu Danda – Chomrong

Day 03: Chomrong – Sinuwa – Bambo – Dovan – Himalayan

Day 04: Himalayan- Deurali – MBC – Annapurna Base Camp

Day 05: Annapurna Base Camp – MBC – Chhomrong

Day 06: Chhomrong – Jhinu – Matkyu – Pokhara

Day 07: Pokhara – Kathmandu

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Memories

Day 1: Kathmandu-Pokhara

The journey began with a bus ride. We took a bus from Kathmandu to start our journey. We reached Pokhara at around 5 PM. We decided to stay there.

Day 2: Pokhara – Chomrong (2170m)

We woke up early and took a jeep to Matkyu and started climbing. After walking for 2 hours, we reached Jhinu Dand where we had our Lunch. We reached Chomrong in 3 hours. We stayed at Chomrong. The food was amazing in Chomrong and the view was incredible.

Day 3: Chomrong – Himalaya (2920m)

After having breakfast and we started our trek. We walked down from Chomrong, crossing a suspension bridge and went up through lower and upper Sinuwa. 4 hours in, we reached at Bamboo and had lunch. After taking 10 minutes rest, we walked another 1.5 hours to reach Dovan. Then, we walked for another 2 hours to reach Himalaya and stayed there for a night. The walk from Sinuwa leads you through enchanting woodlands. It’s a beautiful part of the trek.

Day 4: Himalaya – Annapurna Base Camp (2170m)

As usual, we woke up early, had our breakfast and moved forward to Deurali and then to MBC. We reached MBC in 5 hours. We had our lunch and walked for another 2 hours to Annapurna Base Camp. It seemed like we were on another planet. It felt like once in a lifetime opportunity.

Day 5: Annapurna Base Camp-Chomrong (2170m)

We woke up at 4 to witness the sunrise. We had a coffee and stayed there for a few hours and walked down to MBC for lunch. Then we moved through Deurali, Himalaya, Bambo, Dovan, Sinuwa, and Chomrong. It was the longest trail in our trek.

Day 6: Chomrong –Pokhara

We walked down to Jhinu Danda and took a hot bath. It was an amazing experience and then we walked two hours to reach Matkyu and took a jeep out then drove from Matkyu to Pokhara.

Day 7: Pokhara –Kathmandu

We completed our trek within 6 days. It was a lifetime experience. We came back with a lot of memories and we cannot wait to be in the woods once again.

When To Trek Annapurna Base Camp?

The best time to trek Annapurna Base Camp is considered to be Mid-September to November (Autumn) and March to May (Spring) Which are considered to be before winter and before monsoon respectively.
